I love old buildings...bummer that it's being demo'd instead of rehabilitated...heh...just like cops to go for the most destructive route...
The building was condemned. Pigeons took it over and their droppings were reportedly a foot thick on the floors. Over the years different owners tried to renovate it, but that never got off the ground because of the biohazard associated with the copious bird poop.
