Cabin Fever, Part 2

Bee Balm

Soon the snow, she will be falling from the sky and we will once again be holed up in our house. I for one am really looking forward to summer. It's the only thing that keeps a person sane over the winter. MK and I were out hiking one day last year and came across bee balm. Unless something is very common, I don't know what it is off the top of my head, in which case I take a picture and identify it later. As I did here!

I grow several different monardas (bee balm) in my MT garden. It's a great bee/butterfly/hummingbird plant. The only bummer is that it seems to be susceptible to mildew-ew. TMI...zzzzzz

Apparently the leaves make a good tea! I dried a bunch of lemon balm last summer and we add the dried leaves in a ball to the teapot with a bag of green tea and it's very relaxing :D

I talked to my bestie today who was preparing for the storm in Annapolis. She said the store shelves were practically empty!

Bee Balm is such a cool-looking (otherworldly)plant! I've nipped a few petals, but have never tried making tea with it.
